And We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority 96 Towards Firaun and his court members, thereupon they followed the commands of Firaun; and the work of Firaun was not proper. 97 He shall stand at the head of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will bring them down to the Fire. What a wretched destination to be led to! 98 A curse followed them in this world, and shall follow them on the Day of Resurrection. What a foul gift to be given! 99 These are some of the stories of communities which We relate unto thee: of them some are standing, and some have been mown down (by the sickle of time). 100 We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. When your Lord's chastisement descended upon them, their gods, on whom they called apart from God, were not of the least avail, and all they did was only to add to their destruction. 101 Such is the punishment of your Lord when He seizes the towns in the midst of their sins: His punishing grip is terrible and severe. 102 In this surely is a sign for him who fears the torment of the Hereafter, the day when mankind will be assembled together, which will be a day when all things would become evident. 103 And We do not postpone it except for a fixed term. 104 When that Day comes, not a soul will speak, unless it be by His leave; and of those [that are gathered together,] some will be wretched and some, happy. 105 And those who are doomed, will be in Hell: For them will be sighing and sobbing, 106 [They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends. 107 ۞ Those who are blessed shall abide in the Garden; they will dwell therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Such bounty shall be unending. 108 So be not thou in doubt concerning that which these (folk) worship. They worship only as their fathers worshipped aforetime. Lo! we shall pay them their whole due unabated. 109
