T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Let not the unbelievers who follow their vain desires make you forget the Day of Judgment, lest you will perish." 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
