Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
