The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
