And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
