The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
