Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 until you reach your graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
