(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 when their brother Hood said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and watersprings. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 Eventually they gave the lie to him and We destroyed them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
