Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 who determined and guided, 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall teach you (the Quran) and you will not forget it 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 who will enter the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
