The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And extended shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
