Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
