Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
