The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He hath created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
