The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
