Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 Who created the seven heavens one upon another. You will see no incongruity in the Merciful One's creation. Turn your vision again, can you see any flaw? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner? 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
