The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
