Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
