۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
