The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
