Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
