He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
