Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
