Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
