The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
