The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
