Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
