The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 “And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?” 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
