۞ Those who do not expect a meeting with Us say, "Why are angels not sent down to us?" Or "Why do we not see our Lord?" Surely, they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded all bounds. 21 [Yet] on that Day - the Day on which they shall see the angels there will be no glad tiding for those who were lost in sin; and they will exclaim, "By a forbidding ban [are we from God's grace debarred]!" 22 And We turned all the deeds they had performed into scattered floating specks of dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)! 27 Would that I had never chosen so and so for my companion! 28 Indeed, he led me astray from the remembrance [of God] after it had come unto me!" For [thus it is:] Satan is ever a betrayer of man. 29 The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran." 30 And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. 31 The unbelievers say, 'Why has the Koran not been sent down upon him all at once?' Even so, that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have chanted it very distinctly. 32 And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Quran), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof. 33 The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way. 34
