And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
