Abraham was, certainly, an obedient and upright person. He was not a pagan. 120 Grateful for His favors; He chose him and guided him on the right path. 121 And We gave him good in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be of the righteous. 122 Then We revealed to you: Follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists. 123 As for the Sabbath, it was made incumbent only on those who differed about its laws. Certainly your Lord will judge on the Day of Resurrection between them regarding the matters they disputed. 124 Call to the Path of your Lord with wisdom and fine admonition. Dispute with them in the best manner. Your Lord is well aware of those who have gone astray from His Path and He is well aware of those who are guided. 125 Hence, if you have to respond to an attack [in argument,] respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for [you, since God is with] those who are patient in adversity. 126 And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire. 127 for, verily, God is with those who are conscious of Him and are doers of good withal! 128
