The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Praise be to God who has sent down to His servant -- the Book, which is free from any ambiguity 1 Rightly directing, that he might give warning of severe punishment from Him and give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward, 2 Where they will abide for ever; 3 and admonish those who say that God has begotten a son. 4 No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful - is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter! 5 Then maybe you will kill yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement. 6 Behold, We have willed that all beauty on earth be a means by which We put men to a test, [showing] which of them are best in conduct; 7 Verily what is on earth we shall make but as dust and dry soil (without growth or herbage). 8 Do you think the men of the cave and Ar-Raqim were so strange among Our signs? 9 When the young men sought refuge in the cave, they said, "Our Lord, grant us Your special mercy and give us right guidance in our affair." 10 Therefore We covered up their (sense of) hearing (causing them, to go in deep sleep) in the Cave for a number of years. 11 Then roused them to ascertain which of the two groups could account for the period they had stayed. 12
