Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
