Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
