The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
