Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 That He may forgive some of your sins and prolong your term till an appointed time. Surely when God's appointed time is come it will not be put off, if only you knew! 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
