Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
