Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
