Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
