The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
