The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
