Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Travailing, worn. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
