Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
