The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and banana trees, 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
