Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And linen spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
