We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement. 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
