The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
