The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the snorting, panting horses, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
