The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
