The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
