This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
